TOPDRESSING  LAWN:

Top dressing is an application of organic compost or a blend of soil/compost onto an existing turf.  We use organic compost from your local Lawn Landscape Supply and/or Mirimichi Green CarbonizPN Soil Enhancer material for top dressing your lawn.   A soil amendment is any material added to a soil to improve its physical properties, such as water retention, permeability, water infiltration, drainage, aeration, and structure.  The goal is to provide a better environment for roots.  

Healthy plants start with healthy soil. CarbonizPN Soil Enhancer is a soil amendment that helps plants thrive by improving the efficiency of the soil. CarbonizPN Soil Enhancer is composed of CarboMatrix™ Technology. The activated carbon (biochar) inoculated with premium organics remain in the soil to reduce compaction, drive root growth, increase fertility and water absorption, and decrease nutrient leaching. 

Top Dressing with Mirimichi Green Products is offered year-round. 

We use Mirimichi Green CarbonizPN Soil Enhancer material for top dressing your lawn to:

reduce compaction, 

drive root growth, 

increase fertility and water absorption, 

decrease nutrient leaching. 

CarbonizPN is a soil amendment blend of proprietary activated biochar (USDA Certified Biobased Carbon) and composted premium organic material.  

We recommend combining Core Aeration + CarbonizPN + Fertilizer for Optimal results.  

TOPDRESSING TO HELP LEVEL YOUR LAWN:

 If your lawn is “true sand” it is best to use Organic Compost in addition to the CarbonizPN to topdress & level your lawn.

Note: It takes more than topdressing once as this is NOT a 1st time fix.  

We recommend at 1/4" - 1/2" at each application and wait 2-3 months before applying the 2nd, 3rd application, 4th application.   

Keep re-applying organic compost until you reach the level desired. 

Other reasons of using Organic Compost are increasing CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity) and potential for better adjusting Soil pH to create a better environment for plants.

1.  Charleston home sites that may flood or hold water more if they were built on marsh/muck soil it is recommended to use Sand to help level the lawn.
